Zhijiang Dong Autonomous County Government and Hunan Arts & Culture Group signed a travel development agreement in Changsha on December 22. A total of 8 billion yuan will be injected for deep exploitation of travel industry of Zhijiang. Among them, 4 billion yuan will go to the first phase, "Yuanzhou Ancient Town" project, which is expected to welcome tourists from home and abroad after its completion in 2015.
After hundreds of years of historical accumulation, Zhijiang forms profound and unique geological culture and becomes a well-known historical and cultural city of Hunan Province. In recent years, centering on "County of Peace, Religious Culture, Dong Customs and Ecological Leisure", Zhijiang intensifies input in cultivating and expanding travel industry.
Hunan Arts & Culture Group laid its eyes on profound cultural resources and convenient traffic conditions of the county. According to Li Kelang, president of the group, "Yuanzhou Ancient Town" will be built into a base for patriotic education and cultural exchange between both sides of Taiwan Strait, displaying cultures and local conditions of over 20 minorities living in northwest of Hunan including the Dong Nationality and the Miao Nationality.
