Hunan and South Korea Enhance Health Cooperation

The Health and Family Planning Commission of Hunan Province and South Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare signed the China-South Korea health strategic cooperation framework agreement in Changsha on November 28, 2014. Zhang Jian, director of the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hunan Province, presided over the signing ceremony.

The agreement specifies the establishment of strategic partnership, and incorporates medical and health personnel training, medical and health technology, Kampo extraction technology of traditional Chinese medicine, medical equipment, medicine, regenerative medicine, and public health management into all-round cooperation. Projects of the China-South Korea Medical and Health Summit Forum are reportedly to be launched next year to strengthen medical and health cooperation between Hunan and South Korea. The cooperation is the first move of the local government responding to all-round in-depth China-South Korean strategic partnership after President Xi Jinping and South Korean President Park Geun-hye concluded negotiations on the free trade agreement between China and South Korea at the APEC Summit held in November this year.
