The First Environmental Protection Culture Festival of Hunan's Universities & the Launching Ceremony of the Publicity of "World Environment Day" kicked off at the lecture hall of the Law College of Hunan University on the morning of April 22. Liu Ju'e, director of the Legal System Publicity Office of the Environment Protection Department of Hunan Province, Liu Yunguo and Tang Maolin, respectively party secretary and vice secretary of the Environmental Science and Engineering College of Hunan University, as well as student representatives from Hunan's universities and representatives of the townships and communities in Yuelu District of Changsha City, attended the ceremony.
This event was co-organized by the Environmental Protection Bureau of Yuelu District, the Environmental Science and Engineering College of Hunan University, and nine universities in Hunan Province. Themed with "Love Xiangjiang River, Protect Hunan Environment", it takes the opportunity of "World Environment Day" to raise people's environmental awareness and protect the homeland.
The participants injected water to the model of Xiangjiang River at the end of the meeting, expressing their resolution of protecting the mother river.
