The First China (Yiyang) Dongting Lake Eco-culture Tourism Festival and Watersports Festival will take place in Yiyang from June 16 to 18, 2017, according to a press conference held by the People’s Government of Hunan Province on May 15th.
Themed “Beautiful Yiyang with mountains and lakes”, the festival will feature a series of activities, including live-action performance on Dongting Lake; “Davos” forestry forum-first eco-civilization and green development international forum; canoeing competition and water stunt shows; south Dongting Lake tour; Dongting Lake-themed evening gala; travel product trade fair; travel promotion conference; and, food festival.
“The festival provides visitors with magnificent lake view, delicious aquatic products, and fisherman culture,” said Liu Guolong, vice mayor of Yiyang City. Liu added that visitors could watch live-action performances featuring Hunan culture while visiting Dongting Lake.
The festival aims to fully demonstrate the achievements made in Dongting Lake economic zone, and ecological civilization progress.
