The local travel authority of Fenghuang County announced on January 14 that the county received a total of 312,700 domestic and international arrivals in 2014, up 176.48 percent from a year earlier.
In recent years, Fenghuang County has made active attempts at tapping into the international travel market, signing travel cooperation framework agreements with Australia, France, Russia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and other countries and regions. In 2011, the county inked a letter of intent with Ange City of the Centre region of France, to establish a sister city relationship.
In 2014, Fenghuang made a thorough survey on South Korea's travel market and took the initiative by sending its travel enterprises to the 8th Hana Tour International Travel Show in Seoul. The county managed to sign a framework agreement with Hana Tour, the largest tour company in South Korea, promoting a Fenghuang 3 days 2 nights tour package to South Korea.
