In the updated "World Heritage Tentative List" released by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage (the SACH) on November 17, Laosi Town in Yongshun County, regional defense system in Fenghuang and villages of the Tong Nationality in Tongdao were all included. It means that the three items are qualified to apply for the World Cultural Heritage.
Chen Yuanping, head of the Hunan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, said "It is not easy that the three items are all included in the list." The tentative list is an item library established by the SACH for applying for the World Cultural Heritage. The recommended items will be selected from the list for the World Cultural Heritage. Thus, being on the list means possessing the quantification to apply for the World Cultural Heritage. The three chosen items will be fully preserved, renovated and constructed according to the standard of the World Cultural Heritage.
