Exhibition to Celebrate 70th Anniversary of VJ Day Held in Hunan

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and World Anti-Fascist War, the Hunan Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition themed “Unforgettable History” was launched at the Hunan Mass Art Center on the morning of August 26. Co-hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and the Hunan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and undertaken by the Hunan Mass Art Center, the Art Circles of Hunan Province, the Hunan Calligraphers Association, and Hunan Photographers Association, the exhibition will last till September 25, and citizens can enjoy it free of charge.

The exhibition involves 226 pieces of elaborate paintings, calligraphy and photography created by Hunan artists, including 176 works selected from nearly 2,000 ones across the province. Other 50 works include paintings created by famous painters like Huang Tieshan, Zhu Xunde, Liu Yun, Kuang Xiaojin and Li Zijiang, calligraphy works created by leaders and senior comrades like Xiong Qingquan, Wen Xuande, Li Yiheng and Tang Zhixiang, and photography works created by photographers like Yang Hongguang, Zhang Liping and Han Shiqi.
