The Hunan delegates attending the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (NCCPC) Jiang Yimin, Chen Junwen, Xiang Lili, Huang Lanxiang and Ma Yong received an interview on November 10. They stated that some green development ideas are inspiring, such as "Promoting green development, cyclic development and low carbon development", "Constructing a beautiful China" and "Building a Green Hunan" in particular.
During the interview, the delegates expressed the same understanding of green development idea. Changing the development mode aims to make people benefit achievements of developing green Hunan. "We can't pursue GDP at the cost of green environment, nor can we only protect the environment without development."
By the end of 2020, Hunan strives to realize forest coverage of above 57%, the forest storage volume of more than 500 million cubic meters and the urban greening coverage rate of 40%. Hunan in this year revealed "Outline of Developing Green Hunan", which set a blueprint of green Hunan in the future. "Green" has become a clearer development theme.
