The cultural travel zone of Zeng Guofan's hometown, with over 1 billion yuan investment, began its construction in Heye Township, Shuangfeng County of Loudi City on June 4. In accordance with the standards of national 5A-class scenic areas, the zone will be gradually developed into a well-known brand of Huxiang cultural travel in the next 15 years.
The zone is bestowed with profound cultural deposits, enjoying such cultural heritage on architecture as Fuhou Hall and Baiyu Hall in Zeng Guofan's former residence and such natural landscape as Tianziping and Jiufeng Mountain.
The zone, taking Zeng Guofan's former residence as its center, will be developed into a classic travel area integrating Huxiang culture, originality, travel and relaxation. Over 40 scenic spots are to be built, including the Cultural Museum on Zeng Guofan, Dongshan Villa, Baben Park, Zeng Guofan Square, a bronze statue of Zeng Guofan, a home-letter gallery and a park with poetry tablets.
