CNTA Director Anticipates Comprehensive Travel Development of Zhangjiajie

It was expected that Zhangjiajie City would become a national comprehensive travel demonstration area in the future. Director of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) Li Jinzao said this in a recent meeting with Yang Guangrong, secretary of the CPC Zhangjiajie Municipal Committee in Beijing.

Yang briefed on Zhangjiajie’s condition and its economic and social development. Tourism was a pillar industry of Zhangjiajie City, which witnessed the most visitors among the scenic areas and travel destinations of the same type nationwide in recent two years. It has received 44 million visitors by the end of October this year, and the number was estimated to reach 51 million at the end of 2015, he added.

Li spoke highly of the good practices and rich experiences that Zhangjiajie has made in travel advancement in recent years. He remarked that comprehensive travel will be a new push to fuel the upgrading and leapfrog booming of travel industry, as well as provide better and grander capacities for its environmental optimization. He hoped that Zhangjiajie would carry on developing its travel based on those six major assessment indexes on building national comprehensive travel demonstration area, to lead and guide the establishment of comprehensive travel of other provinces and autonomous regions.
