China's First Light Rail Train Exported to Europe

China's first new light rail train exported to Europe rolled off the production line in CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer of advanced rail transportation equipment in China, on August 10.

It is reported that this type of train is specially designed for Izmir, Turkey. Each of the train can operate separately and can also be grouped according to passenger flow. The bogie enables the train to sway like a snake freely and swerve steadily.

European rail transport standards present strict and detailed requirements on the safety, comfort, energy efficiency and environmental protection, and so the European market is recognized as the most rigid one in the world. At the end of 2009, the new light rail train independently developed by CSR Zhuzhou won out among its competitors from America, Europe, Japan and South Korea and received the order valued at 350 million yuan from Izmir.
