According to a press conference held on July 26, Zhangjiajie has been authorized as one leg of 2011 Asian Beach Volleyball Tour in China. The event will be ceremoniously held here from Sept.29 to Oct.4. Liu Shuhua, Zhangjiajie Vice Mayor, and Han Wei, a leader from Asian Volleyball Confederation, and other officials attended the conference.
The event is undertaken by Asian Volleyball Confederation, Volleyball Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, Hunan Provincial Sports Administration, and Zhangjiajie Municipal Sports Bureau. In this September, the most excellent athletes of 50 teams from 20 countries such as China, China Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and India will participate in fierce competition with their best skills in Zhangjiajie, which will be a joyful and exciting experience for Zhangjiajie citizens and tourists from home and abroad.
This is the first time for Zhangjiajie to host the beach volleyball competition. On the one hand, the Asian beach volleyball tour will bring the unrivalled natural beauty and unique folk flavor of Zhangjiajie into full paly, which can boost its reputation and further promote its travel development. On the other hand, after hosting the game for five consecutive years, Zhangjiajie can build an international volleyball grand event in accordance with its city feature, with the characteristics of volleyball sport including “fashion, Sunshine and Passion”, which can push forward the development of China’s beach volleyball sport
