Recently the final selection result of Hunan Project of Artworks on Major Historical Themes was announced after two years' examination. One hundred and twenty-six pieces of works were shown at the "Artistic Hunan-2012 Changsha Exhibition" held at Hunan Exhibition Hall on August 28. Among them, 78 works will be on display at the "Exhibition of Hunan Project of Artworks on Major Historical Themes" held at the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution on September 11.
Retired veteran cadres Liu Fusheng, Wang Keying, Vice President of the Chinese Writers Association (CWA) Tan Tan attended the opening ceremony.
Jointly organized by the China Artists Association, the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Federation of Literature & Arts Circles and the Art Circles of Hunan Province, the project emphasized exploration of red historical resources of Hunan themed on major historical events, prestigious historical and cultural figures, folk customs & situation and historical changes. A galaxy of national and provincial outstanding artists created a group of thematic art works to support the project, and the selected ones would be collected by the organizers and the Art Gallery of Hunan Province.
