According to the press conference on “2011 Red Bull Wing-suit Flying through Tianmen Hole Activity”, the most outstanding wing-suit flyers across the world will meet in Tianmen Mountain on Sept.24, presenting the most thrilling and difficult extreme sports in China. The world-renowned adventurer Jeb Corliss will perform the stunt of flying through Tianmen Hole with wing-suit.

American Jeb Corliss (born in 1976) is a professional BASE jumper, skydiver, and wing-suit flyer. He has jumped from sites including Paris’ Eiffel Tower, Seattle’s Space Needle, Angle Falls, and the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and so on. He was once invited to take part in the International Base Jumping Festival held in Shanghai. This time he will take the risk of flying through Tianmen Hole with wing-suit.

Wing-suit flying is the sport of flying the human body through the air using a special jumpsuit, called a wing-suit, which adds surface area to the human body to enable a significant increase in lift. It is the most difficult and dangerous extreme sports in the world.

In addition to Jeb Corliss, 9 super humans on man-made wings including Italian Roberta Mancino, Finnish Iiro Seppänen will jump from Tianmen cable cars, pathway on the cliffs, and out of a helicopter, flying through precipices and canyons. The distance between these starting points and the bottom of valley is 300-400 meters, with the highest 700 meters. The landform of Tianmen Mountain is very complicated with changeable weather. “Flying through Tianmen Hole with wing-suit will be the most challenging and dangerous experience for me.” Jeb Corliss said.
