2013 National Mountain Bike Championships Held in Changsha

The 2013 National Mountain Bike Championships (NMBC) was held in HuitangTownship, Ningxiang County, Changsha on April 12. Eighty-eight professional athletes from 13 provinces nationwide including such famous cyclists as Duan Zhiqiang, Han Feng, Ji Jianhua and Liu Xinyang attended the competition. 

Huitang is the fifth stop of the 2013 NMBC, which lasts two days and covers three competition events, namely, adult time-trial cycling, Men’s cyclo-cross and women’s cyclo-cross. Altogether, 12 prizes will be awarded to winners. 

On the morning of April 12, the men’s cyclo-cross first kicked off. Wang Zhen, a bike-rider from the Gansu Sports Lottery bicycle team won the race after cycling eight circles round the mountain. 

In addition, the Xiangdian Hot Spring Cup China Green Cycling Tour & Cyclo-Cross will be held on the morning of April 14 in Ningxiang. Over 400 contestants from amateur cycling clubs all over the country will team up for the event.
