Hunan's Travel Booms During Spring Festival Holiday

Themed by ringing out the old and ringing in the new, Changsha, Xiangtan, Hengyang and Zhuzhou held colorful activities to pray for blessings and auspiciousness on the first day  of the Year of the Dragon and witnessed the first travel boom of Hunan Province in the lunar new year.42 direct-report scenic spots in the monitoring system of Hunan received a total of 424,800 tourists on that day and gained 22,115,600 yuan in travel income.

Mt. Hengshan of Hengyang, also named Nanyue, is one of the Chinese Five Famous Mountains. It received 183,900 tourists at home and abroad and gained 785,100 yuan in gate receipts. All starred hotels here were thriving with over 99% of occupancy rate.

In Shaoshan, a continuous stream of 20,100 visitors came to the Mao Zedong Bronze Statue Square.

In Zhuzhou, the scenic spot of Emperor Yan's Mausoleum launched the activity of "dragon to bring prosperity  and Chinese offspring to worship forefathers". The whole county received 9,764 visitors, up by 39.9% over the same period of the previous year.

In Chenzhou , the Chenzhou Holiday Travel Agency organized over 500 tourists from Hong Kong and Macao to Mt. Mangshan by high-speed railway to appreciate its beautiful snowscape.
